We have captured love, we have locked it up, cloistered it. Out of fear, out of jealousy, out of prudence and above all out of necessity, because the social structure is built on the foundation of the stable reproductive couple. We have imprisoned it for many reasons, none of which really have to do with the genuine impulse of love, which only obeys the law of desire. Love is a wild animal, it does not reproduce in captivity. There are isolated cases of adequate adaptation, in which domesticated love manages to bring happiness. Other times there is a resigned acceptance, couples coexist in relative harmony, witnessing, perhaps with nostalgia, the gradual extinction of the fire that once made them want to draw close to one another, to burn together without thinking of anything else. This happens in the best of cases. The rest… And so our private life unfolds. So far removed from nature, from the relentless, and often cruel, law of desire. So domesticated. So controlled. So human.
